Almost seven years ago, I made the biggest decision of my life. I moved from my country (Brazil) to a new place, I realized it was about the time to experience new things and, I admit, I was a little bored at the time. I don't quite know how my life would be now if I was still living in Brazil, I guess I would have taken similar career paths however, I am not sure if they would have taken me to similar ends.
I am quite glad and happy where and how I am now, but one thing makes me feel better, knowing that I left all the doors open, I left everything in a good way...
I should thank my Dad for teaching this lesson, among several other ones. In his own words, "Always leave places the way you entered, if you do so, the doors will always be open for you when you come back." I totally agree, at 32 years old, I can say that all the friends I have left there, would like to see me again, all the schools I went to would welcome me back, and even all the companies I worked for, would want to have me back. This is a really good feeling, even though we always want to move forward, move on, it feels good knowing you can step back if you want, if you need or if you just miss the past a little bit and feel like doing a "U" turn for a little while.
So, don't forget: Always leave things in a good way.
