The days before I travel are always a little odd for me, I never know exactly what it is... but I will describe as some kind of feeling between anxious and nervous, I feel different not to say weird. No matter how many times I've had travel, the feeling is always there.
On the days before, many questions keep coming to my mind: How will it be when I get there? Is it going to be cold or warm? If so, how cold or how warm? How is the city speed and pace? Am I going to be sitting in trafic for hours at the time? Or will I be walking from one beach to the other? How is the local cuisine?.
I certainly think about all the things I will be doing, the places I will be going, and last but not least, I think about everybody that I will see, the ones I already know, like family and friends plus the ones I will meet, especially if I am traveling to a new place.
It is obvious that traveling causes several impacts in our lifes, starting from the time zone diference, which sometimes can definitely mess you up, to the culture and behavior, language, enviroment, food, weather... I not only think about all these factors but I also get myself mentally prepared to the change.
Having the luggage ready and passport in hand is not enough to leave. Most of the time I need to change my perception of things, once at the destination I have to adapt myself and present myself in a diferent way, I have to change the way I interact and react with people, and how I express my opinion about certain subjects.
In the end this is the real experience, prove to yourself that you are adaptable, flexible and open to the changes. Respecting the place I am visiting and the people from there is essential for me to have a good time and bring on my lugagge back home all the valuable lessons and positive thoughts.
